SUPPORTING CHILDREN IN NEED

At Temple we are so grateful for the amazing life we lead and believe that love only grows by sharing and giving back. We make a living by what we get, but make a life by what we give.

Millions of children around the world are denied an education and access to necessities in life that we take for granted such as clean water, food and shelter. It is one of our passions and commitments at Temple to educate and empower young children in order to create a positive impact on the world.

Partnering with the Jodie O’Shea Orphanage in Bali, we aim to contribute to giving young children in the Balinese community a helping hand in breaking the cycle of poverty.

In the aftermath of the Bali bombings in 2002, many people wanted to contribute in some way to create a future of opportunities for those who had very little. A compassionate and determined group of people combined their resources to improve the lives of children here in Bali.

Thanks to the Jodie O’Shea orphanage many children have undergone amazing transformations. Prior to coming to the orphanage all of them had grown up malnourished in poverty stricken areas, often from one parent families, surviving on a meagre hand to mouth existence.

Today, however, in their new home the children are embracing a life they have never known - a healthy diet, an education, being nurtured and cared for and having the freedom to simply be children.

It must be stressed however, that all of the children's families love and care about them immensely but have had to make the difficult decision to send their children elsewhere so as to provide them with a better life and ultimately a better future.

There are opportunities on our retreats to support the Jodie O'Shea Orphanage in a range of different ways. Please feel free to chat to us about how you can get involved.

At Temple we are honoured to be able to contribute what we can to this small team of people dedicated to providing a healthy, loving and secure environment for these children, the future of Bali.
